I consider myself to be much more of a teacher than a sales person. I guess if it was the other way around I’d be a lot wealthier.
While pushing retailers into signing up for my system is very uncomfortable (even if it’s for their own good), helping them once they have become subscribers is the most fun I have each day. I know that sounds strange, but after fielding a call from a retailer (even a non-subscriber), I hang up knowing that I’ve helped them, and there’s nothing that feels better than that (no jokes, please).
The sad thing is that retailers are reluctant to pick up the phone and call. I haven’t figured that out after 35 years of doing this because I literally beg them to call me for help. I’m available 10 hours every day of the year. It’s never inconvenient for me. How can you turn down an offer like that.
I’m happy to field any question – intelligent, not so intelligent, and everything in between. If you don’t know the answer to something, all you have to do is ask. When my subscribers call, it gives me a chance to add to their knowledge of the program and retail in general and it gives me the opportunity to have more “hands-on” time with the program. Seeing how easy the program is to work with feeds my ego since it’s my baby.
So, if you’ve got questions about retail, I’d love to hear from you. Your call doesn’t have to be about open-to-buy or myotbplan.com, and we can talk until you’re totally satisfied with the answers you’ve received. I started in retail in 1967, so no matter what your facing, I’ve been there. One of the most important things I’ve discovered over the years is that everything comes down to your buying. A solid open-to-buy plan solves almost every problem by opening up time to do other creative things and generating the money to do them with.
So, retailers – give me a call and make my day!
